Allenton Market
This is a small district market which consists of 90 stalls selling all manner of goods. It has served the local community since the market was opened in 1961.
Situated near the major shopping area of Allenton which has just been re-generated by the City Council, the market provides facilities for shoppers from far and wide.
There is ample free parking for the Market which is open Friday and Saturday 8.30am to 5.00pm and there is a Flea Market on Tuesdays from 4.00pm to 7.00pm.
The market was unique when it was built as it has covered walkways between stalls for its customers, something unheard of at the time for an Open Market. Even today this is a rarity.
